Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

I have to show up and let people know I exist.

I’ll be honest: putting myself out there and advertising for new clients is scary. The past five years, I’ve been a hermit. In fact, that’s the card I kept pulling when I’d sit down to do my tarot reading! So, I’ve been relying on word-of-mouth referrals because, deep down, I felt safe staying in my comfort zone (aka “hermit”). Recently, something shifted. I realized that if I want to attract more of the right people, the ones who bring energy into my world, I need to put myself out there.

Luckily, I have my younger daughter, Lali, to help me bring my marketing to life. She handles my hair and makeup, directs the photoshoots, and even helped me design the current poster that’s now hanging up in Berkeley and Bellingham. Having her support reminded me that we all need a helping hand sometimes. We don’t have to do everything alone.

Scared to Start? You’re Not Alone.

We start from where we are and build from there.

I see it all the time. My clients come to me feeling uncertain, maybe even a little intimidated. They wonder: Will I be able to keep up? What if I can’t do it? But here’s the truth: Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. My approach is all about making movement accessible, non-intimidating, and free from judgment. It can actually even be fun!

Most people don’t realize how much strength, mobility, and overall confidence can improve when they work with a trainer compared to going it alone. Studies show that people who train with a professional see greater strength gains, are more consistent, and are less likely to injure themselves. And as we age, it’s even more important to have a plan that takes our unique bodies into account. Whether that’s an old knee injury, shoulder issues, or, in my case, a spinal fusion that I work around in my own training.

It’s Not Just About Strength or Ripped Abs.

The most rewarding thing I hear from my clients isn’t just, “I’m stronger” or “My mobility is better.” It’s that their entire life has improved. Travel is easier. Daily movement feels normal again. They feel more at home in their own bodies. And that’s what keeps me showing up every day. I truly love the people I work with.

So if you’ve been hesitating, feeling the fear like I have been, know that you’re not alone.

I’m taking on new clients now. If you’re ready to take the first step, let’s talk. Click below to book your free Personalized Movement Assessment and see how training can work for you.
